Bloodstock Metal Festival have had to make the agonizing decision to postpone this year’s 20th annual event due to the Coronavirus. It is not really all that surprising however it is still sad that it has come to this.
The organizers have announced that anyone who wants a refund that has already paid will get it and folks should contact the ticket agency to do so. They are hoping to help process these within 28 days. However, they do ask patience in case this doesn’t quite transpire. All fans who bought through See Tickets should be receiving an email within the next 2 weeks.
Those who wish to, can have their tickets roll over to next year 2021 where the festival will last over 5 days, yes you read that correctly FIVE days! When Bloodstock says they are planning on “returning with a vengeance” they are not joking and proving that their slogan a “metal festival run by metal fans for metal fans” is pretty accurate. Both Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 August will feature bands on the smaller stages such as the Sophie and New Blood with the main stage opening on the Friday.
There is no price rise for the extra day for those who have bought already and they are putting a price freeze on until later in the year when it will rise by £10.
Much of the line up will remain with 2 of the Dio stage headliners Devin Townsend and Judas Priest confirming their attendance. (See below for a message from the metal god Rob Halford).
There are also updates on VIP tickets, any bought for 2020 are held over for 2021, campervan spaces that have been bought will be swapped over for those still wishing to attend.
The festival will be held as always at Catton Park on the dates of 11 to 15 August!
The statement is strong and clear that Bloodstock will be back to enjoy and over a longer period next year. Read the official statement HERE
