HEADBANGERS OPEN AIR Festival in Germany finalized their lineup today. Adding to an already loaded roster, we now see additions of Tom Keifer and Pentagram. CGCM‘s own Rich “The Meister” Dillon will definitely be onsite (he’d better get accommodations and tickets and such sorted soon!) for his first HOA. But, anyone knowing him could have guessed as much the minute the two words “Lady Beast” appeared in the poster. Also in the mix, among others, is the fabulous Ironflame, just reviewed by CGCM‘s Graham Spark: IRONFLAME – Blood Red Victory (Album Review). Who’s in?
HEADBANGERS OPEN AIR Facebook Post (with slight edits):
To finish off the weekend we got some good news from Brande Hörnerkirchen for you: our probably best billing ever is now complete!
We can barely believe it ourselves, CINDERELLA‘S TOM KEIFER is giving us the honour and will play a ton of Cinderella hits and own material on Thursday!
And as if that wasn’t enough, PENTAGRAM will come to HOA on the “Last Daze Here” farewell tour with a special set! For the 50th anniversary of the band, they play a complete set of songs from those legendary “Last Daze Here” sessions from 1971 to 1976.
With them, they’ll bring DUN RINGILL (dark Heavyrock / Doom) from Sweden.
About HEADBANGERS OPEN AIR:
Not without reasons, the Headbangers Open Air is called “the biggest garden party of the world”. It takes place in Brande-Hörnerkirchen, near Elmshorn (40 km away from Hamburg). The venue is the yard of a burnt down and restored farm in the middle of nowhere, where the organizer opens his garden every year again for the (at least in the spirit) long-haired metal-hordes. The band choice at the HOA is diversified – from the legends of the 80s and 90s to local heroes, insider tips, underground bands and newcomers, who will also get their chance to play here. The only thing missing is expensive “headliners”, to keep the entrance fee as low as possible. The stage is raised in the inner yard and the surrounding fields serve as parking lots and campgrounds. Beer- and BBQ-shacks, all for reasonable prices, are provided, as well as a metal market
