CGCM Rock Radio New Singles – March 23, 2021 (BEAVER BUZZ)

In this week’s edition of Beaver Buzz, we have the epic new single from Mädhouse, and it’s a monster. Other huge tracks from Temple Balls and Danko Jones are the tip of this Rock ‘n’ Roll iceberg, but what’s below? The Limit, featuring doom and punk legends, represents the old school, while Dirty Honey are dreaming about the future. A couple of bands went the ridiculous route with hilarious videos including the previously mentioned Dank Jones and Stop Stop.

Sick Of It All – Mädhouse

Plenty of bands have the sound and look to fit right into the Sunset Strip, but very few nail that feeling of dangerousness those early sleaze bands like Motley Crüe and W.A.S.P had. Mädhouse absolutely nails it. Their sound is dirty, raw rock & roll with swagger. If the rest of the upcoming album is like “Sick of it All“, it’ll be on a lot of year-end lists.

Sick of it All” is off Bad Habits available April 23, 2021.

T.O.T.C – Temple Balls

The second single from Pyromide, T.O.T.C.” is another gem. It’s a big, energetic arena rocker that’ll surely be a staple of Temple Balls‘ live shows. The twin guitars of Jiri Paavonaho and Niko Vuorela make for a thick and rich sound, and the duo really shine in the solo.

T.O.T.C.” is off Pyromide available April 9, 2021.

I Want Out – Danko Jones

A song that could only be written during a pandemic, Danko Jones is all of us right now. The video lets us take a peek at various ridiculous ways of dealing with COVID isolation. “I Want Out” channels the rage, confusion, and outright strangeness of the pandemic into a delicious rock and roll song.

I Want Out” is off Power Trio available in August.

My Wasted Heart – Jason Sweeney

Jason Sweeney follows up the first single “She’s a Fighter” with an up-tempo rocker. It’s a song about lost love, but the music is far from sad. Sweeney‘s ability to write a catchy song is again on full display.

My Wasted Heart” is off an EP expected May 2021.

Black Sea – The Limit

The Limit certainly has impressive pedigree with Bobby Liebling (Pentagram), Jimmy Recca (The Stooges), and Sonny Vincent (Testors). The doom and punk influences mix into an enthralling stew. Liebling‘s voice is like supple old leather, and the punk side of the house brings the raw energy they first showed in the 70s. It’s great to see veterans playing with such passion and creativity.

Black Sea” is off Caveman Logic expected April 9, 2021.

California Dreamin’ – Dirty Honey

With a title like “California Dreamin’” following up the cover of Aerosmith‘s “Last Child“, I was fully expecting a cover. Turns out that’s the Melvin’s job, not Dirty Honey. The young band churns out yet another killer rock song.

California Dreamin’” is off Dirty Honey expected April 23, 2021.

Put To The Sword – Primitai

How committed to Classic Metal are Primitai? Committed enough to recruit an original NWOBHM guitar player for the guitar solo committed. Of course, Paul Quinn (Saxon) delivers. “Put to the Sword” is an empowering call to arms to face the obstacles in your way.

Pro Tip! Do yourself a favour and check out their website. It’s the most unique band site I’ve ever seen.

Put to the Sword” is off Violence Of The Skies, out on March 26, 2021.

DNA – Mason Hill

The Scottish band Mason Hill are churning out great rock songs, and “DNA” is another. The guitars rule this head bopper that you can’t listen to sitting still. The duo of James Bird and Marc Montgomery drive the song like a freight train.

DNA” is off Against the Wall, out March 5th, 2021.

Taking Down The Brutes – Starcrazy

Starcrazy is a great young band out of Australia with a punk attitude and a tight rock sound. “Taking Down the Brutes” is fast and furious and a great introduction to the killer sound these lads deliver.

Taking Down The Brutes” is off Played For Suckers, available now.

Big Vaccine – Stop Stop

Just watch the video and thank me later, it’s weird as hell and equally hilarious. “Big Vaccine” is maybe the best Steel Panther song in a few years. I’m guessing the vaccine itself is only about 1% effective.

Big Vaccine” is off loWcosT liFe, out on May 1, 2021.

She Goes for the Throat – Hugo’s Will

Looking for some raw, stripped-down rock and roll? You’ve come to the right place. Hugo’s Will pulls together a bunch of influences from psychedelia, to punk, to the blues, but it’s all rock and roll to me.

She Goes for the Throat” is off She Goes For The Throat EP, out now.

Bring Out Your Dead – Jason Bieler & The Von Bielski Orchestra

A heavier Saigon Kick? Bieler‘s vocals are unmistakable and sound fantastic here. With help from a Devin Townsend solo and David Ellefson‘s thick and heavy bass, the song rips.

Bring Out Your Dead” is off Songs for the Apocalypse, out now.
