CGCM Rock Radio New Singles – February 16, 2021 (BEAVER BUZZ)
CGCM Rock Radio New Singles – February 23, 2021 (BEAVER BUZZ)
This is the first BEAVER BUZZ article to follow a BEAVER BUZZ radio show. Buzzsaw is stoked and he’s asked me to remind you to check out his next two-hour playlist on March 3rd at 8:00 EST. Also, make sure you vote in the poll on the FACEBOOK GROUP.
This week, Buzzsaw has pulled together a collection of veterans like Rob Zombie, Accept, and Todd La Torre; newer bands like Unknown Refuge, Ayron Jones, and Dirty Dead Dinosaurs; to the pros in between like Cobra Cult, The Quill, and Wildstreet.
The Eternal Struggles of the Howling Man – Rob Zombie
From the eerie opening to the chorus to the campy horror theme to the “Oh Yeahs!” this is vintage Rob Zombie. Throw in John 5 showing why he is one of the best rock guitar players in the world right now. If Rob Zombie ever was your jam, you’ll love this song.
“The Eternal Struggles of the Howling Man” is off The Lunar Injection Kool-Aid Eclipse Conspiracy available March 12 through Nuclear Blast, because who wouldn’t want to tempt mp3 file name limits?

To The Light – Unknown Refuge
I don’t care who you are, that riff from Jack Tracey is ridiculous. There’s no way singer Alex Mancini can avoid the comparisons to Michael Poulsen of Volbeat. “To the Light” shows this band is young and hungry.
“To the Light” is off From The Darkness available February 26.

Mercy – Ayron Jones
This is my introduction to Ayron Jones, and I can’t be more impressed. This is a bluesy rocker, well written, and seriously kick ass. It’s an important feeling song of its time and place, you should seriously check this out!
“Mercy” is a single that will hopefully find its way to a future release.

Sell Your Soul – Cobra Cult
For anyone hungry for dirty, punk and metal-inspired mayhem, Cobra Cult is for you. Lead vocalist Johanna Lindhult snarls her into your head until you’re singing “Watch out! Beware!” over and over. It’s a killer song.
“Sell Your Soul” is off the album Second Gear expected on March 5, 2021.

Sucks to Be You – Accept
It’s entirely possible that every song off Too Mean to Die will eventually get played as a single on CGCM. They are all so good! I’d love to hear a double-shot with the Accept classic “Son of a Bitch“. Wallygator first played “Sucks to Be You” on The Rock and Roll Swamp.
“Sucks to Be You” is off the album Too Mean to Die out now.
BUY: Nuclear Blast / AMAZON.ca / AMAZON.com / AMAZON.co.uk
Keep On Moving – The Quill
It’s a banger with a great buildup. It’s got a great message about perseverance through difficult times. “Keep on Moving” is an inspiring song from a great band with an amazing groove
“Keep on Moving” is off the album Earthriser expected on March 26, 2021.
BUY: AMAZON.ca / AMAZON.com / AMAZON.co.uk
Messiah – Inglorious
Inglorious are a big-sounding band and the pipes of Nathan James are large room commanding level. Overall “Messiah” is a fist-banging anthem. It’s well-produced and slick as hell.
“Messiah” is off the album We Will Ride released on February 12, 2021.

Set It Off – Wildstreet
Wildstreet is shooting for anthemic here and they are hitting the target. I love the drum and vocal chanting, a classic rock move. Give this one a shot if you’re looking for some solid glam.
“Set it Off” is off the forthcoming album Wildstreet III.

Pretenders – Todd La Torre
Todd La Torre has the voice for sure, and now he has the solo album to really stretch it. “Pretenders” is a perfect example of the approach to the solo album: go harder and heavier, and no need to try to match any former singers. The Rock and Roll Swamp premiered “Pretenders” in Wallygator‘s New 💩 segment.
“Pretenders” is off the album Rejoice in the Suffering out now.
BUY: RATPAK RECORDS / AMAZON.ca / AMAZON.com / AMAZON.co.uk
Holding Back – Dead Dirty Dinosaurs
“Holding Back” is a gritty, rich single from Dead Dirty Dinosaurs out of Brisbane, Australia. The whole sonic experience builds to a climactic finish that should leave you a little, um, spent. It’s a great song, hard rock with a solid punk feel to it.
“Holding Back” is a single that will hopefully find its way to a future release.
