CGCM Rock Radio New Singles – May 5, 2021 (BEAVER BUZZ)

Happy Cinco de Mayo! What better way to celebrate than with a trip south of the border with Gypsy Pistoleros? Royal Blood struts in with their silly walking song “Boilermaker“. We’ve also got a double shot of the eminent Snowy Shaw, both with a guest and guesting himself.

The Name’s Django – Gypsy Pistoleros

The follow-up to one of the best songs of 2021 “Lost in a Town Called Nowhere” is clearly setting up the theme of the upcoming The Mescalito Vampires album. “The Name’s Django” is full-on Spaghetti Western, but fear not CGCM fans, the lava river of rock flowing under the dusty desert eventually erupts.

The Gypsy Pistoleros recently signed with the Off Yer Rocka label family. Along with the signing, they released the video for “The Name’s Django”.

The Name’s Django” is off The Mescalito Vampires, available August 14, 2021.

Boilermaker – Royal Blood

I dare any reader to watch the video for “Boilermaker” and try to walk perfectly normally for the rest of the day. Let me know how that goes for you in our Facebook group.

Aside from the video, the song itself is absurdly catchy. The production is crisp and I love the fuzzy tone paired with creative sounds Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher layer on the song. It’s a live favourite that’s just now getting a proper studio release.

Boilermaker” is off Typhoon, out now.

Tell Me, Tell Me – Snowy Shaw (feat Erika)

The fourth track in Snowy Shaw‘s year-long project to release a single every month and compile them all into the album This is Heavy Metal, plain & simple, “Tell Me, Tell Me” is another great collaboration. Snowy Shaw‘s deep, complex voices pairs well with Erika‘s smoother singing.

Tell Me, Tell Me” is a standalone digital single.

Metalhead – Ben Blutzukker & Snowy Shaw

Snowy Shaw isn’t hurting for work. This time Shaw teams up with Ben Blutzukker for an absolute kick-ass metal song, worthy of being called “Metalhead“. We haven’t even talked about the magnificent video yet. Blutzukker painstakingly created a Lego tribute to old school metal, including Metallica, Body Count, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, and more.

Metalhead” is a standalone digital single.

Our Six Pack this week includes some solid rock and roll from Native Sons and Sons of Liberty. American Jetset brings the sleaze with a single that feels like a drive down Sunset Blvd. Skyward pays tribute to Liz, who sounds like a hell of a human being. Stygian Fair and Shotgun Mistress round everything out with a couple of earworms that’ll stick with you for days.
